Are you living the life you want to be living?

How do you evaluate what’s working for you?

This is what I want most for moms: to live the life that works for their family, not what society tells them their life should look like.

Are you living the life you want? It’s ok if the answer is maybe, or you’re not sure. Maybe it’s a heck yes!

Moms have been conditioned since were little as to what motherhood should look like. It’s sacrifice. It’s doing everything for our families. Signing our kids up for all the activities, so they can get into a good college, get a good job, and be successful in life. Wearing ourselves out to the point of health problems because we’re so busy doing everything for everyone else. And then feeling guilty if we do even a little something for ourselves.

And we don’t feel like we have time to even evaluate if this is what we want. We just keep plugging along because if we stop, it might all fall apart.

This is why I do the work I do. Because moms deserve better. Society wants us exhausted and overwhelmed.

I want moms to take 5 minutes every now and then to take a look at how they’re spending their time. To ask themselves the following questions:

👉 Is this what I want in this season?

👉 Does this work for me family?

And a big one: When I look back at my kids childhood, what do I most want to remember? What do I want their childhood to have looked like?

Also, it’s your time too. It doesn’t all have to be about your kids. You get to do something for yourself. You’re modeling to your kids what adulthood and parenthood can look like.

You might decide that you love being busy, driving your kids to all the things, sitting on the sideline of every soccer practice and game. Or getting up early every morning to take the kids to hockey.

Or maybe you feel like that’s what good moms do and if you step back a little, your kids might lose out on something.

What I want most is for you to take a few minutes to evaluate what works for you.

You might not be able to make any changes right now, but that awareness is gold. It gets you moving towards something different. Something that works for you.

And if you want to talk through it with someone, I’m here.
