Is your planner color-coded, with every task and activity planned down to the minute? Or is your calendar held together by determination, caffeine, sticky notes, and so many reminders on your phone that you can’t keep track anymore?
Maybe it’s somewhere in between. There’s no right or wrong answer here.
After all, you’re an entrepreneur mom with too many balls in the air. And the constant juggle is exhausting.
Maybe you’ve felt that finding the perfect planner or app is the answer to getting it all done. If you can just get yourself organized, everything will be ok.
I’m here to tell you that there is no magic planner or app that will make it all happen. Because, like the pile of laundry that grows every time you leave the room, your to-do list will never end.
I don’t tell you this to make you sad or overwhelmed. Don’t delete this email in anger. Stick with me here.
I, too, have a to-do list that never ends and a spot on my desk that always has a pile of stuff to deal with. As I get one pile of items taken care of, 3 more things end up there. It’s like a magnet for tasks!
So, if a magic planner or app isn’t the answer this school year, what is?
Understanding the season that you are in and how you want it to feel.
Answer the 2 questions below and get yourself centered before lunch.
👉 What do I want this school year to look and feel like? (and if that feels too big, what about this Fall season?)
👉 What activities will help make that happen?
I want my Fall to be full of my kids building new routines. Both of my kids will be in middle school. I’m looking forward to one drop-off and one pick-up. I want my kids to pick one activity to commit to for the semester.
And I want everyone in my house to start moving our bodies more, preferably outdoors. The summer has been so hot and smoky (as I know much of the US has been this way) that we stayed inside more than I would have liked. It’s time to get back outside and soak up the sunshine before winter.
If you’re thinking you want to go into the school year differently than you’ve felt in the past, start some 1:1 coaching with me. It’s designed to fit into your life. Let’s make this year the year you start feeling like you’re making progress on your goals, not just checking items off a list.
